We Only Need A Little
Let’s face it, it’s a “turned down”
economy and the oil tank gets priority. I understand that. As a result of this present situation, some in our Damascus Road family of supporters, painfully report,
“I wish I could do more, but I can only share a little”. The surprise
is we only need a little. I’m sure you know a radio broadcast is expensive,
but what you may not know is our Damascus Road team is made up completely of volunteers. That’s right, no one is
paid. We believe so much in the ministry we contribute not only our time, but our finances as well. Because our expenses are held to radio production only, the little you do goes a very long way. Frankly,
I’m not aware of a more effective radio ministry anywhere.
Damascus Road is your broadcast.
When Damascus Road first went on the
air sixteen years ago, I wanted you to know this was to be your broadcast, and that’s what it has been, and continues
to be. To make it financially possible for everyone who chose to participate,
and have a sense of equal participation in the ministry, the Coffee Club began. The purpose of the club is to let it be known,
a small gift in the hands of God is a very large gift indeed. Back when the price
of a daily medium sized cup of coffee was a “buck”, we decided that would be the price of admission into the Coffee
Club. Unlike the price of a cup of coffee today, our price remains the same. A
dollar a day, rounded out to five dollars a week, to make it a little more affordable, and then calling it twenty dollars
a month. That’s it, that’s all we ask.
By the strength
of your faithful prayers and your financial contributions, God has blessed the Damascus Road broadcast. As equal partners
we have seen God lead many to begin a faith relationship with Him, and encouraged many more to move forward in their life
of faith, and all that for the price of a daily cup of coffee. Working together,
praying hard, and placing our gifts in the hand of God, the Gospel is proclaimed to thousands, as the Kingdom of God moves
forward. By the way, yes, I’ll be happy to send you a Damascus Road
Coffee Club Mug, when you tell me you want to be a regular supporting partner of the ministry.
With deepest gratitude, and a sincere request for your
prayers,
Harry Sill
